Key accountabilities
Take full responsibility for Engineering construction of a Major project.
Lead a team of MEP Package Managers across all M&E disciplines.
Develop MEP strategic programmes, track, monitor and report on progress
Assist the Commissioning Team to develop the commissioning strategy and delivery up to project completion.
Identify problems and offer solutions.
Develop the MEP Procurement strategy and to lead the team to progress MEP scopes and interfaces schedules
Review design and shop drawings, the project programme and contribute where necessary.
Offer high level strategic thinking at project level.
Contribute information to the proposal team, if required.
Attend and present at Customer Presentations & workshops.
Manage relationships with the supply chain & Vendors
Be aware of the existence of marketing relationships with external professionals and clients.
Actively promote philosophy and culture.
Produce precise and succinct project reports.
Take responsibility for strategic control and monitoring of the programme.
Take a lead role in the presentation of the project to the client.
Offer buildability advice and value engineering solutions.
Be aware of element costings and costs
Develop a thorough understanding of M&E systems.
Promote and implement Zero Defects quality Initiative, ensure the project delivers to a high-quality standard.
Implement Best Practice to deliver safely and to schedule.
Be actively involved in the design process, offer technical support and industry experience to the Design Team
Monitor the design release against cost plan and construction schedule.
Skills & experience
Industry experience. Track record of successful projects.
Major Projects Experience
In-depth knowledge of the construction process, preferably new build large scale based.
Understands the pre-construction process. Can organise and manage the design phase of a project.
Help prepare and maintain the client decision matrix.
Able to collate information from his team to prepare and present the project report.
Has been involved at a senior level in medium (£50m+) and preferably at least one large (£100m+) project.
Understanding of how to comply with a Health & Safety policy and Health & Safety management system
Prefabrication knowledge desirable (but will not prevent application for this role)
