Senior Site Manager / Site Manager

Our client is a leading main contractor and one of the top ten in the UK. They have secured a new scheme in the Islington area and are now seeking a Senior Site Manger who will report to the site based Project Manager. Candidates must have previously worked for a large / recognised main contractor, ideally on commercial, education and or health schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure site accident frequency rate is below OPCO target and all safety inspections and audits are satisfactory.
• Ensure project is on or ahead of programme at all times.
• Provide a defect free end product.
• Assist in delivery of project margin and effective cost control measures.
• Ensure client and external body satisfaction with construction process and end product.
• Lead the site team and sub-contractors to maintain the highest possible standard of safety performance at all times and ensure safety is the number one priority of all members of the team.
• Assemble and structure a competent team and monitor development and performance of individual team members.
• Implement management and monitoring procedures to cover all aspects of design, procurement, manufacture and installation of components on and off site.
• Chair and minute site progress and safety meetings.
• Support commercial team with selection and procurement of sub-contract packages.
• Identify and manage third party involvement.
• Produce all necessary reports for internal and external functions.
• Motivate and support the site team and sub-contractors to deliver all targets and objectives.
• Liaise with client and design team to ensure all parties interests are being fulfilled.
• Resolve and close out all complex issues quickly and effectively.
• Any other reasonable task that may be required by the line manager.

• Safe on Site Workshop
• CITB SMSTS
• Scaffold Inspection
• Current CSCS Card – Platinum
• NVQ Level 4 Construction Site Management
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines, and a flexible attitude towards work in order deal with a variable and demanding workload.
